Specialist Appointments

A valid referral is required to attend a consultation with one of our medical specialists.
Referrals from a General Practitioner (GP) are valid for 12 months, and specialist-to-specialist referrals are valid for 3 months (temporary basis), in accordance with Medicare guidelines.

McCrae Specialist Centre hosts a wide range of specialists who consult on a sessional basis and operate independent practices. To simplify the booking process, patients and referrers are requested to refer to each specialist’s profile for contact details and arrange appointments directly through the specialist’s main consulting rooms or central booking office using secure systems such as HealthLink, ReferralNet, or equivalent electronic referral platforms.

All referrals, bookings, enquiries, amendments, and cancellations must be managed through the specialist’s primary consulting rooms.

Allied Health Appointments

No referral is required to see our allied health professionals if you are claiming through private health insurance.

If you are attending under a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP), please ensure you have all relevant documentation to access your Medicare rebate.

Some allied health providers may offer bulk billing under GPCCMP arrangements — patients are encouraged to confirm eligibility and billing arrangements at the time of booking.
