Dr Richard La Nauze is a gastroenterologist with a special interest in the management of inflammatory bowel diseases, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. He also has extensive expertise in advanced therapeutic techniques in endoscopy and manages a wide range of general gastroenterology and hepatology conditions, including iron deficiency anaemia, gastrointestinal bleeding, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, pancreatic disease, and liver disease.

After graduating from Melbourne University in 2001, Dr La Nauze completed his physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He undertook gastroenterology training at Frankston and The Alfred Hospitals, before completing Fellowships in advanced endoscopy at The Alfred Hospital and in London at St Mark’s Hospital — an internationally recognised specialist centre for gastroenterological and colorectal diseases.

His advanced training included large polypectomy, advanced endoscopic techniques, and the endoscopic and medical management of inflammatory bowel disease and polyposis syndromes.

Dr La Nauze lives permanently on the Mornington Peninsula with his wife and young family. He is committed to delivering high-quality endoscopy services and actively participates in national colonoscopy training initiatives through the Gastroenterology Society of Australia.
